Asye Summit & AYE Youth Network

Africa Summit on Youth Employment

(asye Summit)

ASYE Summit brings together 1000s of African youths from African nations and the diaspora every year to explore unique development opportunities through connecting with youth development stakeholders; policy makers, governments, private sector, international organizations, civil society, investors, funders, and corporate companies in order to build a shared economic system for all in Africa.

ASYE Summit is not just an annual event, but a platform where the AYE Youth Network members report, advocate, share activities and campaigns accomplished all year long. A space to engage, recognize and appreciate stakeholders from the public and private sectors across the African states.  Our institution has a continental taskforce network of enthusiastic and passionate individuals, and this opportunity is availed to different potential young leaders and activists across the continent annually.

We engage in Inter-generational dialogues with private and government stakeholders nationally and regionally on the Africa’s youth employment burden.

Challenging policies and laws affecting the work and employment spaces for youths and women in Africa. Exploring more untapped opportunities in ICT, agriculture, robotics, block chains, tourism among other virgin sectors.

The AYE Youth Network leads discussions (online and off line) on alternatives and issues that matter to the youths, promoting descent work and economic development in their member countries in ending extreme poverty in Africa.

Our initiative has gained international recognitions, nominations and awards. In 2021 we won the Africa Rising Star Award from Nigeria and in 2022 won the Leader for Job Creation Award from Ethiopia.

Our network organizes national and international engagements and activities that contribute to the reduction of unemployment gap in Africa.

The summit creates a strategic platform for African youths including fresh graduates to meet, build networks and learn from exposed, experienced and likeminded men and women to inspire them to think creatively in order to address the increasing youth unemployment burden.
The process further cultivates and continues to inspire investment in African youths across ‘the4 E’s’: Education, Entrepreneurship, Employment and Engagement.

Africa has got all the necessary resources on land , sea and in the ground that can sustain her people for generations, combining this with the youngest population workforce we shall become unstoppable.

At ASYE Summit and AYE Youth Network & Coordination, we strongly subscribe to the Agenda 2063, Agenda 2030 For Sustainable Development, Africa Youth Chapter and the Africa Young Women Beijing+25 because we believe without them we cannot reach our goal of closing the youth unemployment burden in Africa.
Agenda 2063

Agenda 2063: The Africa we want

AGENDA 2063 is Africa’s blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the continent’s strategic framework that aims to deliver on its goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.

UN SDGs

2030 AGENDA FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

This Agenda is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. It also seeks to strengthen universal peace in larger freedom. We recognise that eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including extreme poverty, is the greatest global challenge and an indispensable requirement for sustainable development. All countries and all stakeholders, acting in collaborative partnership, will implement this plan.

1ST PARTNER convenerS

ausley & JUGENDKRAFT

Association of Uganda School Leaving Youth - AUSLEY  is a youth coalition which was developed by four high school leaving students, a girl and three boys who realized that together they could conquer the uncountable challenges among themselves and other peers. The students overwhelming worry was the influx of young people not admitted in higher institutions of learning after their high school. On the other hand there is an equally desperate and disgruntled class of university graduates who are unemployed, roaming on streets, unable to support and sustain their families.

Therefore, a resolution was reached to establish an association that would ensure youth participation in civil society organizations as a way for preparing them for service in order to create a new youth world of thinking. AUSLEY is an avenue to reverse the de-intellectualization of youths and popularization of superstition so as to re-direct the youth’s energies into meaningful pursuits. Our programs are mainly community based with a bottom-up approach.

JUGENDKRAFT Youth power foundation is a youth based non profit organization that aims at helping young people to embrace the second chances that life offers in a such a world, empowerment ,and sustainable impact through the sustainable development goals .Our focus and commitment to the youth agenda has birthed projects ,advocacy, mentorship and training. With our projects like AfriGal ,VoiceUp ,etc.AfriGal our lead project has championed menstrual hygiene and the fight against child marriages through skilling programs in different communities, advocacy, mentorship’s , and education. AfriGal has been launched in the northern and central parts of Uganda .

Voiceup against depression. Is a mental health awareness campaign that has spearheaded the need to speak up on mental related issues because from us ,there is no health without mental health.because of the rising issues of suicide and mental illness in young people ,VoiceUp was birthed to encourage young people to always talk to someone as it’s name “VoiceUp “suggests .

Jugendkraft has partnered with quite many organizations some of which are Amani boy child network ,Ausley,Wipe up your tears ,and etc .And have different programs and activities .
